Wings Journal Air India has announced plans to reserve six seats in each airplane for female passengers. The state-run airline revealed the move was an attempt to preserve the safety of women traveling alone. All of the seats in row three on Air India planes will now only be allocated to women. India already has policies which segregate women from men on public transport to avoid sexual harassment and molestation. Wings Journal Japan Air Commuter (JAC) took delivery of its first European ATR turboprop airplane on Friday, gambling on attracting foreign tourists to a little-visited archipelago as Japan bids to place Amami and Ryukyu islands on UNESCO’s World Heritage list. Configured with 48 seats, the ATR 42-600s will be used to replace JAC’s Saab 340 fleet.
